Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Kikimojo has no user accounts and never asks for your name, email address, or phone number. Everything you track — emoji tags, calendar entries, reminders, and settings — is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to us.

The only information that ever leaves your device is a small amount of anonymous crash-diagnostic data, described in full below, used solely to find and fix bugs.

Information We Collect

We collect only the following categories of information:

• Content you create — emoji tags, calendar entries, time slots, reminders, and app preferences, stored in a database on your device. This content is never transmitted to us, to our service providers, or to any other party.
• Crash and performance diagnostics — if the app crashes or an error occurs, our crash-reporting provider, Sentry, automatically receives technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and a stack trace describing what the app was doing at the time. Sentry also receives basic session data (such as session length and whether a session ended in a crash) and general interaction timing (such as how long a tap took to register) to help us detect slow or unresponsive screens. Sentry does not receive screenshots or any other visual capture of the app's on-screen content.

What We Don't Collect

Kikimojo does not collect, and has no ability to collect:

• Your name, email address, or phone number
• Your contacts, photos, or files
• Your precise or approximate location
• Microphone or audio recordings — Kikimojo only plays a small number of built-in sound effects and never records audio
• Your browsing history or activity in other apps
• Payment or purchase information — Kikimojo has no in-app purchases
• Advertising identifiers — Kikimojo shows no ads and contains no advertising SDKs

How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above only to:

• Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs, and identify slow or unresponsive screens, using the technical and performance reports Sentry provides
• Comply with legal obligations, if we are ever required to

We do not use any information for advertising, do not build profiles about you for marketing purposes, and do not sell, rent, or trade any information to third parties.

Third-Party Service Providers

We work with one service provider, which processes limited data on our behalf under its own privacy policy:

• Sentry — crash and performance monitoring. See Sentry's privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.

Kikimojo is distributed through Apple's App Store; downloading and installing it is also subject to Apple's own privacy practices, described at apple.com/privacy. We do not use any analytics or advertising SDKs beyond what is described in this Policy.

Data Storage and Security

Your content is stored in a local database on your device using standard operating-system storage and security mechanisms; it is never transmitted over the network by the app. The limited diagnostic data described above is transmitted to Sentry over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, because almost all of your data never leaves your device, your exposure to a data breach affecting us is minimal.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your content remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can permanently delete all of it at any time using the "clear all data" option in the app's Profile screen, or by uninstalling the app.

Anonymous crash reports and performance data are retained by Sentry for a limited period consistent with standard diagnostic retention practices, after which they are deleted.

Your Rights and Choices

Because Kikimojo has no accounts and stores your content locally, you are already in full control of it:

• Access — all of your content is visible directly within the app at any time, since it's stored locally on your device.
• Deletion — use "clear all data" in the Profile screen, or uninstall the app, to permanently delete all locally stored content.
• Notifications — used only to remind you about activities you've scheduled reminders for, never for marketing or re-engagement. Enable or disable them at any time from your device's system settings.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar data-protection laws, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you through our service provider (for example, anonymous crash reports). Because we do not collect data that identifies you personally, we generally cannot connect a request to specific stored data, but you may still contact us using the details below and we will make reasonable efforts to assist.

Children's Privacy

Kikimojo is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information from any user in the first place, no age-verification mechanism is required. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.

International Data Transfers

Our service provider, Sentry, may process data on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required by law, it relies on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect data transferred internationally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
